Police Warn of 'Dangerous Raccoon' Roaming Montgomery Township

UPDATE: Jan. 16, 11:58 a.m. — Montgomery Township Police report that "a woman and a dog (were) bitten by a raccoon in the Stone Ridge Development off of Upper State Road last night. We are asking residents to be mindful and call 911 should they see a raccoon displaying behavior that departs from the norm."

Montgomery Township Police are warning local residents about a dangerous raccoon roaming the area.
 
In an alert sent out shortly after 11 am this morning, the police department said:
 
"Montgomery Township Police Department has been made aware of a dangerous raccoon in the Township. Please call 911 if you spot the raccoon, and do not engage the raccoon."
 
The message did not specify the nature of the danger or how to identify the animal.
