North Penn Grad Seeking Community Birthday Cards for Son with Rare Genetic Disorder

A former local woman and graduate of North Penn High School’s Class of 1998 is seeking public assistance in making her son’s 10th birthday a memorable one.

Tracy (Cervi) Inverso, 39, who has since moved to Florida, is seeking to throw a “Birthday Card Party” for her son Logan, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called CHARGE Syndrome. To date, the disorder has resulted in 25 surgeries and medical procedures for Logan, including three open heart surgeries.

For Logan’s fifth birthday, Inverso threw a similar party which brought in more than 500 birthday cards. Now with Logan on the verge of hitting double-digits later this week, Inverso is hoping to bring in at least 1,000 birthday cards, to remind him of the love and support he has from family, friends and community.

“He has surpassed all odds, and continues to live his best life here with us,” said Inverso.

Birthday cards can be sent to the following address:

Inverso
P.O. Box. 667962
Pompano Beach, FL 33066

“After his birthday, we will get his picture taken with all the cards to symbolize that, due to all your prayers, love and support, his 10th birthday is happening here with us,” said Inverso, via Facebook.

In the most recent update, Inverso said that the family has received 530 cards so far, which is a little more than halfway to their goal. Logan’s birthday is scheduled for the weekend of the Jan. 18.
