Local residents and frozen custard aficionados will soon have another eatery option at their disposal, as Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers is set to open in Towamencin later this month.
In an email to North Penn Now, Towamencin Township Manager Rob Ford said that Freddy’s has scheduled their use and occupancy inspections, and though a definitive date was not yet available, they expect to open during the week of Jan. 29.
In May 2019, the Towamencin Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to grant final land development approval for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will be located along Forty Foot Road, next to Chick-fil-A and Wawa, and will have dual drive through lanes.
According to QSR Magazine, in 2017, Freddy’s signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with investor Matt Melvin, who is opening eight restaurants in Montgomery County. Currently, Freddy’s has three locations in Pennsylvania in Broomall, West Chester and Exton.
Freddy’s Steakburgers operates more than 300 franchise locations in 32 states. There are no locations in the Tri-State Area or Maryland, except for Pennsylvania, and no franchises exist in the New England region, New York state and the Pacific Northwest. Freddy’s recently signed a master franchise agreement with a Dubai investor to bring the fast food chain to the Middle East, including United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
