Members of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement have levied a fine against Pets Plus in Lansdale, after the business allegedly illegally transferred ownership of two puppies.
North Penn Now has acquired a copy of the citation dated Dec. 12, which states that Pets Plus—located along the 500 block of South Broad Street—unlawfully transferred two 6-week-old puppies into the kennel without approval from a licensed doctor of veterinary medicine. On Dec. 19, Pets Plus was cited on a summary charge of illegal transfer of ownership of puppies, and fined the maximum of $500.
With fees and costs, the total amount of the fine is $591.25, according to the citation. Aside from three civil suits dating back through 2011, court records do not show any other fines or charges against Pets Plus in Lansdale during that time.
Efforts to reach the local and corporate owners of Pets Plus have been unsuccessful at this time. Should we receive a response, we will update this article accordingly.
