Hilltown Standoff Ends with One Suspect in Custody

A standoff that lasted nearly 12 hours in Hilltown Township ended on Thursday morning with one suspect being taken into custody.

According to a report by Fox29, the incident began around 8 p.m. on Jan. 1, along the 2000 block of Hilltown Pike. The report states that a man barricaded himself in a residence as police were responding to a call for domestic violence.

Residents in the area were told to shelter in place, and officials from Pennridge School District reached out to parents regarding busing issues caused by the ensuing road closures, according to sources.

Further details are unavailable at the moment, but North Penn Now has reached out to the Hilltown Township Police Department for comment. We will update this article as more information becomes available.
