A Montgomery Township man is facing felony weapon and drug charges after police executed a search warrant at his home on Feb. 20.
Late last year, Montgomery Township Police received information stating that 20-year-old Jarred Orourke was allegedly selling drugs out of his home along the 200 block of Beacon Court. Investigators began surveilling Orourke’s residence and social media accounts, and conducted multiple trash-pulls from the residence which revealed large freezer bags which typically contained an ounce or more of marijuana when full, according to the criminal complaint.
Investigators were granted a warrant to search Orourke’s home and cell phone, which they carried out at 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 20. Among the items seized from the home was a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun that had previously been reported stolen, weapon accessories, a digital scale, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the complaint.
A forensic download of Orourke’s phone revealed images and messages indicative of narcotic sales, police said. Additionally, investigators said that Orourke is not permitted to be in possession of a firearm, as he is an adjudicated delinquent for robbery, the report states.
Orourke was taken into custody on Feb. 24 and charged with felony counts of prohibited possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property, criminal use of a communication facility and possession with intent to distribute, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
Orourke was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy, who set bail at $50,000 unsecured. He was then released from custody, and his next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on March 4 at 1:15 p.m. in front of Judge Duffy.
