Hatfield Police Seek ID of Jeep Owner Involved in Theft of Trailer

Hatfield Township Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the owner of a black Jeep Wrangler that was involved in the theft of a trailer earlier this month.

According to the release, police were dispatched to a business located along the 2800 block of Bergey Road on Feb. 4 for a report of a theft of a trailer. Police said that surveillance footage showed what appeared to be a black Jeep Wrangler with black rims entering the property and leaving a short time later with the trailer attached.

The trailer is described as a black TNT trailer with two flat tires, police said. Anyone with information regarding the incident or who may recognize the trailer or vehicle is asked to contact the Hatfield Township Police Department at 215-855-0903. The incident follows a similar report out of Montgomery Township in late January, where a black Jeep Wrangler with black rims, overhead LED lights and small spotlights on the bottom corner of the windshield was involved in the theft of a trailer at an undisclosed location.

Det. Sgt. Richard Hoffner, with the Hatfield Township Police Department, said investigators are exploring potential links between the two incidents.

“We are aware of the theft of a trailer investigation in Montgomery Township involving a black Jeep Wrangler, and are looking into the similarities between these two thefts,” said Hoffner.
