Crews Working to Free Trapped Driver Following Crash on Bethlehem Pike

UPDATE: Feb. 19, 2:14 p.m. - Sources tell North Penn Now that the rescue is complete. Photographer Bob Kelly said he saw the JeffSTAT medevac taking off from the scene, but does not know if any of the victims were inside at the time.

First responders are currently on the scene of a vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries on Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Township.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at 1:29 p.m. on Bethlehem Pike near the intersection with Trewigtown Road. Dispatch notes indicate that two vehicles were involved in the crash, with one or two victims trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Sources tell North Penn Now that two victims have been injured, including a 19-year-old female is who bleeding from the mouth. Dispatch notes indicate the crash is blocking the roadway.

Units from Hatfield Township Police Department, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale are currently on scene. A medevac helicopter has also been placed on standby, according to county DPS.
