UPDATE: Feb. 12, 8:59 p.m. - Hatfield Township Police have provided an update, stating that Koffel Road is closed between West Vine Street and Pennfield Drive due to the accident. Police said that PPL has been contacted due to the power outage.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety (DPS), the incident occurred at 6:47 p.m. near the intersection with West Vine Street. Sources tell North Penn Now that a vehicle crashed into a utility pole, and incident notes from DPS state that the pole is sheered and laying flat in the road, blocking traffic.
There is currently no word on injuries, though emergency medical personnel are on scene. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, and dispatch notes indicate that there are associated power outages in the area.
Hatfield Township Police are being assisted at the scene by members of the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.
