Police Investigating Tuesday Night Shooting Incident in Montgomery Township

Montgomery Township Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday evening at a home on Livingston Court.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the residence at 5:11 p.m. for a report of a shooting. No other details were readily available at the time.

In response to a request for comment from North Penn Now, Montgomery Township Police Chief Scott Bendig confirmed that the incident occurred and stated that police were investigating.

“The department is conducting an investigation surrounding an incident that occurred at a home on Livingston Court,” said Bendig. “There is no threat or concern for public safety surrounding this incident.”

The scene was reportedly cleared of most emergency personnel by 5:42 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety.

Two sources told North Penn Now that the incident involved either a suicide or suicide attempt with a firearm. However, police would not comment on the nature of the investigation or provide further details at this time.

In addition to the Montgomery Township Police Department, units from the Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale responded to the scene.
