UPDATE: Feb. 11, 1:21 p.m. - Upper Gwynedd Township Police Chief David Duffy has provided North Penn Now with a few additional details of the arrest.
According to the release, North Wales Borough Police received a call at 2:58 a.m. this morning regarding a suspicious person who was believed to be wanted for murder in Philadelphia. Police from Upper Gwynedd Township responded to aid North Wales Borough Police in the search for the suspect, and later found an individual matching the suspect’s description and initiated a pedestrian stop.
The individual was identified as 32-year-old Thomas Johnson, and police confirmed that Johnson was wanted on an active warrant for murder in Philadelphia.
In addition to North Wales Borough and Upper Gwynedd Township police, units from Lower Gwynedd Township Police and the Lansdale Borough Police Department aided in the search.
