Storms and Wind Damage Homes, Vehicles Across North Penn Area

UPDATE: Feb. 7, 4:50 p.m. - Lansdale Borough Manager John Ernst said that a total of six properties were affected by the outages, with five of them being residential and one being an unoccupied business.

Ernst state that residential power was restored by 1:30 p.m., within three hours of the first report, and the remaining power was restored by 3:30 p.m. along with miscellaneous cleanup. 
 
"A crew of linemen will remain on call through the night, should any other issues arise," said Ernst.
 
On the PECO side, three outages remain in the North Penn area, though collectively they affect less than 15 homes. Power has been restored to all other homes, according to PECO.

UPDATE: Feb. 7, 12:35 p.m. - Lansdale Borough Manager John Ernst said that there are sporadic power outages in the borough, mainly from trees falling into power lines. Ernst said that he couldn't confirm a number of affected residents, but stated that the electric department is working on the outages based on the order impact to the largest number of properties.

UPDATE: Feb. 7, 12:23 p.m. - PECO is reporting six outages in the area, affecting 2,186 residents.

A strong line of storms that passed through the North Penn area on Friday morning caused widespread damage to homes and vehicles.

At the intersection of North Cannon Avenue and West Fifth Street, a large tree fell on top of a Jeep, and at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Winding Road, a tree fell onto a power line, forcing the closure of the roadway.

The area along South Valley Forge Road near North Penn High School was hit equally hard, with trees falling into homes and debris spread across the yards and roadways. Residents are also reporting to North Penn Now that trashcans and other items have been strewn across yards, alleys and roadways throughout the area.

First responders and electric company personnel are responding to multiple other locations throughout the region.
