Tantric to Play The Underground in Lansdale This Spring

In the past couple years, The Underground has been buzzing with musical activity weekly. We’ve seen some major music talent come through, such as Jeffrey Gaines, Tempest, Varials and Cold Climb It (featuring Matt Brasch from The Wonder Years). This year, The Underground is consistently working to raise the bar by booking acts such as Noah Guthrie (of the hit Fox TV show GLEE) and, most recently, Tantric. This band scored major radio hits such as “Breakdown” and “Mourning” right from their self-titled, certified gold debut album in 2001. Tantric will be joined by Stereotytans, the award winning, Philadelphia based “comic book rock” band and inspiration for Round Guys Brewing Company’s “Bumble Bee Wheat Ale.”

These awesome bands, and Big Handsome, Lansdale's favorite rocking sons, will be thrashing at The Underground on April 18. Special pre-sale tickets are available online now. This is a show not to be missed, see you there.

About Tantric

Louisville-based post-grunge rock group Tantric have defined themselves through six studio albums as a groove laden, guitar rich rock band with dense vocal harmonies and infectious vocal melodies. Front-man Hugo Ferreira’s unique soulful baritone vocals, ranging from angsty rasps to melodious melancholy are a testament to the signature Tantric sound.

Along with the usual intricate guitar work, infectious riffs layered over complex textures have become the hallmark of the Tantric sound. Tantric has endured for a career of 15 years, and although the band has gone through many label and lineup changes over the years, Ferreira has managed to keep the entity that is Tantric alive and well.

“I consider Tantric a boat that I float in—it’s a vessel that carries the music,” said Ferreira. “So I never feel restrictions. It doesn’t have any rules. Tantric music can be super-heavy, light–or both It’s really an open book with no ending in sight.”
