Though it may have been a cool winter afternoon, longtime Hatfield Township resident Charles “Chick” Neely received a warm embrace on Tuesday, as the township’s staff and first responders paid him tribute on his 95th birthday.
At 1 p.m. on Dec. 29, Neely — a member of the United States Navy and WWII veteran — was honored with a vehicle parade consisting of members of the Hatfield Township Police Department, Hatfield Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, Hatfield Township Public Works and Hatfield Township Manager Aaron Bibro. The celebration also included several friends and family members, who stood by Chick’s side as the vehicles passed by the 2600 block of Line Lexington Road.
