Area Fire Companies Encounter ‘Hoarding Conditions’ During Monday Afternoon Blaze in Hatfield

Multiple area fire companies battled a blaze along the 500 block of Orvilla Road in Hatfield Township on Monday afternoon.

According to a release from the Hatfield Fire Company, crews arrived to the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m. for a report of a structure fire at a two-story detached single family dwelling. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke, and upon entry to the structure, they were immediately met with “hoarding conditions,” the release states.

Crews located the fire at the rear of the structure, and the fire was placed under control approximately 30 minutes after arrival. Officials said that due to extensive overhaul efforts, firefighters remained on scene for several hours after the fire was placed under control.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been released.

Hatfield Fire Company was assisted at the scene by units from the Colmar Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company, Towamencin Fire Company, North Penn Fire Company, Perseverance Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Fire Department and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.
