Hatfield Township held their annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday night, but this year’s event was a little bit different due to the ongoing pandemic.
Instead of the standard “walk-up” event, this year’s tree lighting was a drive-in experience due to COVID-19 safety concerns. That didn’t stop a crowd of families from attending, however, as dozens of visitors packed the parking lot at School Road Park to near capacity, so they could sing Christmas carols and take in some live music courtesy of Brian DiBiagio & The Misfit Toys band.
North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly, who was on scene taking in the festivities, said guests were asked to either remain in their vehicles or to socially distance when outside of their vehicles. Also in attendance were members of the Hatfield Township Board of Commissioners and Hatfield Township Parks and Rec staff members, as well as members from the Hatfield Township Police Department and Colmar Fire Department.
The event also included appearances by the Grinch, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Check out our gallery below!
