UPDATE: Dec. 13, 1:33 p.m. - Sources tell North Penn Now that the fire was placed under control approximately 30 minutes after dispatch.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, crews were dispatched to the intersection of Kearny Drive and Arbour Court at 12:29 p.m. for a report of a residential fire. Dispatch notes indicate that multiple callers reported seeing flames and heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a residence.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, though a second alarm was struck shortly after initial responding units arrived to the scene. It is also unclear at this time if the fire has spread to neighboring residences.
Sources tell North Penn Now that at least one person has sustained burns as a result of the incident.
The Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department is being assisted at the scene by units from the Upper Gwynedd Police Department, North Penn Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, Towamencin Fire Company, Worcester Fire Department, Center Square Fire Department, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Harleysville Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale, according to Montco DPS.
