North Wales Borough Police have issued a statement after a body was discovered at a local park on Friday morning.
Police were dispatched to Hess Run Park, located along the 100 block of South Eighth Street, at 7:43 a.m. on Dec. 11 for a report of a male that was lying on the sidewalk. After arriving at the scene, investigators determined that the male was deceased, apparently from a self-inflecting gunshot wound.
The victim’s family has since been notified, according to police.
North Wales Borough Police Chief Mike Eves said the case remains open, pending the results of an autopsy by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. Eves added that there is no danger to the community.
