Lansdale Borough Police are seeking public assistance in identifying and locating the male driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash on Saturday night.
According to the release, the crash occurred on Dec. 5 at 7:24 p.m. at the intersection of Hancock and South Broad streets. Sources told North Penn Now that the vehicle struck a fire hydrant before coming to a stop in front of Walton Fuel and Oil, at which point witnesses said the driver fled the scene on foot through the Lansdale Cemetery.
Sources additionally told North Penn Now that the driver was involved in an incident prior to the crash, and police were searching for him. Those details have not been confirmed or denied by police.
Police said they used an area canine unit in an attempt to track the driver, but they search proved unsuccessful. No further details were provided.
