Montgomery Township Police have released the details of a Thursday morning crash that sent one local woman to the hospital.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of County Line Road at 8:04 a.m. on Dec. 3 for a report of a single-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a 20-year-old female from North Wales who was trapped inside of her 2009 Honda Civic.
Accord to the release, police said the woman’s Honda traveled off of the left side of the road, crossed over several yards and then struck a tree in the front yard of 122 County Line Road. Preliminary results regarding what caused the woman to veer off the road have not been released.
Once the woman was freed from her vehicle, she was airlifted from the scene via JeffSTAT medical helicopter for treatment of unknown injuries, police said. Montgomery Township Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Colmar Fire Company, Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale, Warrington Ambulance and the New Britain Township Police Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Montgomery Township Police Department’s Highway Safety Unit. Anyone with information relating to the crash is asked to call Montgomery Township Police at 215-362-2301.
