UPDATE: Aug. 28, 3:27 p.m. - Chief Eves has informed North Penn Now that police were unable to secure useful footage from their surveillance system. Eves is asking any resident in the area with a surveillance system or Ring camera to check their footage from earlier this morning to see if they may have captured video of the suspect(s).
During the early morning hours of Aug. 28, several stolen “Back the Blue” signs were placed on the lawn outside of the North Wales Borough Police Station. The signs had been vandalized and painted over to say “Defund the Blue,” “Grow the F—k Up,” “We support our [LGBTQ rainbow and Black Lives Matter fist ]” and “We Support Out Immigrants, LGBTQ*, Black Lives, Feminists, POC.”
North Wales Borough Police Chief Mike Eves confirmed to North Penn Now that police are investigating the incident, beginning with reviewing surveillance footage from the building’s security system. Eves added that he will release any useful footage to North Penn Now, and in the interim, anyone with information regarding the incident or suspect(s) should contact him at [email protected].
Friday’s incident marks the second time that the police department has been targeted by anti-police vandals.
