Lansdale Borough Police are investigating the theft of a 3-month-old puppy from Pets Plus on South Broad Street.
“Butters,” a 3-month-old lab mix puppy who was recently transported to the facility from a kill shelter in Louisiana, was stolen on Aug. 27 at approximately 5:45 p.m. According to Nikki Gallagher, who works at Pets Plus, a man and a woman were walking through the store with their young son for more than 45 minutes while they waited for all employees to be occupied with other customers. The woman then exited the store and pulled her vehicle up to the curb, at which point the man pushed the puppy out of the store in a shopping cart and placed the dog in the vehicle, Gallagher said.
The couple then fled the scene, according to Gallagher. Both the man and the woman were allegedly captured on surveillance footage, but Lansdale Police could note verify the footage at the time this article was published. Those images can be viewed on the Pets Plus Natural Facebook page.
In the Facebook post, Pets Plus stated that the simply want the dog back, and they will take it back anonymously if needed. For anyone with information regarding the theft or the suspect, contact the Lansdale Borough Police Department at 215-368-1801. Tips can also be emailed to [email protected].
