AutoCAD skills can improve your marketability in a number of different careers. North Montco Technical Training Center is offering an introductory course in Computer-Aided Drafting (AutoCAD 2020), with the course starting on Sept. 15, 2020.
Whether you work in manufacturing, construction or architectural engineering, these skills can help you unleash your creativity and increase your marketability. Matthew Jones, an instructor in North Montco’s Continuing Education program, explains the number of professions that use this skill set.
“These professionals use AutoCAD for mechanical, civil or electrical design, as well as the production of shop floor drawings for installation work,” said Jones.
“While this class is an introductory class to AutoCAD, the topics covered are applicable to any type of detailed drawing / drafting,” Jones continued. “This knowledge can be easily applied to many work or home projects. I have had electrical machine mechanics take the class to draft wiring diagrams for service work. I have also had owners of a custom cabinet shop want to be able to design cabinets for emergency response vehicles like small fire trucks. Other examples of my students include window installers who wanted to produce better shop drawings for their installations, and a steel fabricator who needed to make shop drawings for installation of structural and decorative metal railings.”
