The Pennsylvania Lottery has announced that a $1 million Powerball lottery ticket was sold at a Wawa in Horsham Township earlier this week.
According to the release, the winning ticket matched all five white balls during Wednesday night’s drawing, 02-06-18-36-37, to win $1 million. The Wawa, located at 535 Horsham Road, will earn a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The local winner has not been identified at this time.
A jackpot-winning Powerball® ticket for the August 12 drawing was sold in Florida. The jackpot-winning ticket was worth an estimated annuity value of $168.5 million, or $140.1 million cash. The jackpot had been rolling since June 10, 2020 when the last jackpot, worth $22 million, was won in Wisconsin.
This is the second time since July 27 that a ticket sale at the Horsham Wawa turned its purchaser into a millionaire. On July 28, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced that the same location sold a $1.5 million Diamon Mine Fast Play.
The Horsham Wawa wasn’t the only local store to sell a winning ticket to Wednesday night’s drawing. A second release from the Pennsylvania Lottery states that a Wawa along the 200 block of York Road in Willow Grove sold a $100,000 winning ticket which matched four of the five white balls drawn, as well as the red Powerball.
