Montgomery County announced 33 new coronavirus cases and one additional death on Monday afternoon.
Data shows that of the 33 cases reported on Monday, three were reported from long-term care facilities and the remaining 30 occurred outside of those facilities. The countywide total now stands at 9,978 confirmed positive cases.
In the North Penn area, Lansdale Borough has the most cases with 270 and 31 deaths, followed by Montgomery Township with 255 and 30 deaths, Hatfield Township with 183 and three deaths, Upper Gwynedd Township with 148 and 37 deaths, Towamencin Township with 145 and 27 deaths, Hatfield Borough with 37 cases and North Wales Borough with 23 cases.

Total cases in the North Penn area currently stand at 1,061 and 128 deaths. Total cases in the neighboring communities are as follows:
Totals across the surrounding municipalities currently stand at 1,139 cases and 110 deaths.
The countywide death toll from the coronavirus stands at 823, of which more than 80% have come from residents of long-term care and congregate living facilities. As of last week, county data showed that 70 people were hospitalized and eight of them required a ventilator.
In the past seven days, there have been a total of 274 new cases reported in Montgomery County, which is a decrease of 22 cases compared to the previous week. Additionally, the county’s PCR Test Positivity Rate continues to be below 4%—where it has stayed since June 26.
To date, 1.2% of Montgomery County residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Earlier on Monday, Pennsylvania reported 601 new coronavirus cases, bringing the state’s total to 119,453 cases. The state also announced that there were three new confirmed deaths on Monday, bringing the total to 7,317 confirmed deaths across the commonwealth.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 20,011 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,161 cases among employees, for a total of 24,172 at 883 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of the state’s total deaths, 4,974 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
To date, 8,672 healthcare workers have tested positive for the coronavirus. Hospitalization statistics show that 591 people are currently hospitalized across the commonwealth, of which 108 require the use of a ventilator. 25.1% of hospital beds and 26.4% of adult ICU beds are currently available.
In the last seven days, 152,486 tests have been administered in Pennsylvania, of which 5,262 returned positive results. The rate of positive tests for that period is 3.5%, according to state data.
As of Aug. 10, 1,240,830 residents have tested negative for the coronavirus. 77% of those who have tested positive in Pennsylvania have since recovered.
To date, .9% of Pennsylvania residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
