Tropical Storm Isaias Causes Widespread Flooding Across the Area [Photos]

Vehicles travel through flooded waters at the intersection of West Main and Walnut streets in Lansdale Borough.

Montgomery County residents were urged to stay home and indoors as Tropical Storm Isaias made its way through southeastern Pennsylvania.

By noon on Tuesday, widespread flooding and road closures had been reported across the county, pushing area first responders into action for everything from water rescues to electrical fires caused by the storm. In Lansdale and throughout the North Penn area, dozens of roads — from primary thoroughfares to small side streets — were closed due to flooding, and the areas of Harleysville and Kulpsville were placed under a Tornado Warning by the National Weather Service.
