Towamencin Township Police issued a release on Wednesday
morning stating that 5-year-old Eliza Talal has not been located and she
remains missing.
Police said that officers and rescue crews will be extensively covering the Towamencin Creek area and surrounding creek bed today, and they are asking any volunteers to refrain from entering that area while they conduct their search. Additionally, police are asking volunteers to check neighborhoods, playgrounds, parks and walking trails, and residents are asked to periodically check their properties during the day.
Any resident with exterior facing cameras on their property is asked to check their recordings from the overnight hours to see if there were any signs of the missing girl. Questions about the search are being directed to the Towamencin Police Department Facebook page, as well as to their station at 215-368-7606.
Towamencin Police Chief Tim Dickinson told North Penn Now that Eliza Talal — who has autism and is nonverbal — walked out of her home on Spring Valley Road around noon on Tuesday, just as Tropical Storm Isaias made its way through the area and caused widespread flooding.
Eliza Talal is described as 3’6” tall, weighing 40 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a white onesie tee-shirt and no shoes. Anyone who may have seen Eliza or has information regarding her disappearance is asked to contact 9-1-1 immediately.
