First Responders On Scene of Apartment Fire at Wissahickon Apartments

UPDATE: April 27, 10:27 p.m. - Officials from the Fairmount Fire Company tell North Penn Now that the fire has been placed under control. Sources have informed us that multiple people were transported from the scene with injuries, but we have been unable to confirm those details.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently unknown.

Multiple area fire companies are currently on the scene of an apartment fire at the Wissahickon Apartments complex in Lansdale Borough.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, multiple fire companies were dispatched to the intersection of East Main Street and Greenwood Road at 9:56 p.m. for a report of a building fire. Sources tell North Penn Now that the fire is located in the D Building of the apartment complex, and some of the first units to arrive on scene reported encountering heavy fire with possible entrapment of residents.

No injuries have been reported at this time, though emergency medical personnel are en route to the scene.

Fairmount Fire Company is being assisted at the scene by units from the Lansdale Borough Police Department, Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale, Colmar Fire Company, North Penn Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, and Worcester Fire Company.
