Backyard Beans To Participate in ‘Coffee Takeover’ of Local Manhattan Bagel Locations This Weekend

On the weekend of April 25 – April 26, Manhattan Bagel and Backyard Beans Coffee Co. are partnering together to serve Lansdale, PA and Chalfont, PA at Manhattan Bagel drive-through’s from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Backyard Beans Coffee Co. will be doing a “coffee takeover,” serving drip coffee and nitro cold brew cans. Manhattan Bagel will be serving their breakfast and lunch food menu.

Manhattan Bagel franchise owner, Don Bradley, has been looking for ways to partner with small business owners across the region to help out in any way he can. Don recently got in touch with Backyard Beans through a local facebook group he helped start called “Lansdale Neighbors United” and offered his drive-through for Backyard Beans to do a coffee takeover for one weekend.

“As fellow small business owners, Manhattan Bagel is thrilled to partner with Backyard Beans as we demonstrate to the Lansdale community that we are united together,” said Bradley. “Their amazing locally roasted coffee will pair perfectly with a fresh baked bagel, and hopefully bring Lansdale residents a little comfort. During these chaotic times we are finding ways to not only keep our local employees working, but to also give back to Manna on Main, and to uplift our heroes working on the front lines at Lansdale Hospital. Lansdale is an amazing community and together will get through this.”

This is an opportunity to unite Lansdale food businesses and the community, and safely receive items through a drive-through location.

In a recent Forbes article which featured Backyard Beans, author Pamela N. Danziger stated that “If this crisis has taught us nothing else, it is that we are all bound together in local communities. Together we stand strong and together our actions are helping defeat COVID-19 that threatens our health and our livelihoods.” This weekend of food service and coffee is an opportunity for small businesses to survive and unite during the COVID-19 pandemic. And, it is not only open for Backyard Beans, but for other small businesses as well.

“We are open to working with other local businesses in the future who need a safe drive-through experience to serve their local customers,” Bradley said.

Backyard Beans owners Matthew and Laura Adams of have been serving the Lansdale community since 2013 with their coffee, and their cafe is built around the community.

“If you get into business just to make money, you are not going to succeed,” Adams said. “People will see right through it. Just before the coronavirus hit, we raised our drink prices fifty-cents across the board. Not a single person said anything about it, because they see our money isn’t going into fancy cars or building a bigger house. It is going right into our backyard, which is our employees and our community.”

Adams and Bradley have both been giving back to the community through sending donations to local area hospitals along with the help of the community. Manhattan Bagel will soon start a food donation program for people in need of fresh food to local residents. Manhattan Bagel is also participating in a food drive, so those participating in the Backyard Beans Coffee takeover weekend can drop off non-perishable goods in the blue bins in front of the storefront for Manna on Main.

If you’re looking for a good cup of coffee and a meal to go, please support both companies at Manhattan Bagel drive-through’s on the weekend of April 25 – April  26 in Lansdale and Chalfont.

Supporting the local economy is what we need to do together in order to survive this storm together.
