The Lansdale Borough Police Department is urging residents to always lock the doors to their vehicles, following multiple thefts from vehicles that occurred early Sunday morning.
According to the release, police are investigating multiple thefts from unlocked vehicles that occurred along the 500 block of Edgemont Avenue between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Sept. 29. The thefts are believed to be related to other similar incidents that occurred recently along Forrest Avenue in Hatfield Township, police said.
A witness told police that the thefts were carried out by a single male suspect, who is described as an approximately 20-year-old black male with a thin build. The suspect reportedly fled the scene of the thefts in Lansdale on foot, according to the release.
“Lansdale Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles at night, as each of these thefts could have been prevented by simply locking vehicles,” said Lansdale Borough Police Chief Michael Trail.
Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to contact the Lansdale Borough Police Department at 215-368-1801, and reference report number 2019-14920.
