One of North Wales Borough’s largest events of the year is scheduled to take place this Saturday, as thousands will arrive for the 2019 North Wales Community Day.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and boasts a variety of attractions including a free kid’s zone, live entertainment, a beer garden and more. According to Christine Hart, the borough manager of North Wales, the event is currently run by the North Wales Borough Business Alliance with the borough acting as a liaison.
The event originally took place on Main Street, but was moved until it returned to Main Street in 2017, in an effort to allow for more vendors to participate. This year’s event space includes a closed Main Street from North Wales Road to Church Street, and a closed Church Street from Fourth Street to Main Street. The kid’s zone will be located in Weingartner Park, and will include both inflatables and a petting zoo.
“The event is important to the community because not only does it showcase what our town has to offer, but it brings a sense of community more so into the heart of the borough,” said Hart.
