The Towamencin Police Department is investigating suspicious circumstances involving a male claiming to be a private investigator in the Timber Creek Condominiums located on Valley Forge Road near Sumneytown Pike.
On Sept. 21, a recording device was located by a resident that appeared to be surreptitiously placed on one of the buildings on Hickory Court. After the device was found, residents went back through their available home surveillance systems and located footage depicting a white male believed to be responsible for placing the device. A snapshot of the male has been added to this alert.
When approached by a resident before the recording device was located, the male said he was a private investigator. Since the device was located, we have received information from other neighbors that the male was seen occupying a light-colored Dodge Grand Caravan for approximately one week.
Investigative efforts yielded a possible place of employment at a private investigative agency, however that company has denied any active investigations in our area.
We are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this male, as well as any information you may have after seeing him or interacting with him. Anyone with home surveillance systems is asked to check available recordings that may have captured his activity between Sept. 13 and Sept. 21.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Towamencin Police Department at 215-368-7606 and reference incident number 2019-17120.
