Bethlehem Pike Closed in Hatfield Due to Vehicle Accident

UPDATE: Sept. 17, 10:03 a.m. - Bethlehem Pike was reopened earlier this morning, around 4 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Hatfield Township Police have announced the temporary closure of Bethlehem Pike following a vehicle crash involving an SUV and a telephone pole.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at 5:50 p.m. near the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Trewigtown Road in Hatfield Township. According to sources, a Toyota Rav4 struck a telephone pole, and the pole is now leaning.

Dispatch notes indicate the driver seemed confused, but no injuries have been reported at this time. According to police, Bethlehem Pike has been closed between Line Lexington and Trewigtown Roads. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Units from the Hatfield Township Police Department, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company and PECO are currently on scene.
