A North Wales woman is facing felony drug charges after she was allegedly observed peering into vehicles with a flashlight at the Quality Inn in Montgomery Township.
According to the criminal complaint, Montgomery Township Police were on patrol at 5 a.m. on Sept. 12 when they passed the Quality Inn and observed an individual—later identified as 27-year-old Jenny Fay, of North Wales—walking between vehicles in the parking lot with a flashlight. Police then pulled into an adjacent lot, turned off their lights and continued to observe Fay, the report states.
Fay allegedly continued to walk between the vehicles, working her way towards the rear of the former location of Gimaro’s Steakhouse, which is now vacant. The report states that due to recent thefts from vehicles within the township, and the suspicious behavior of Fay, police conducted a pedestrian investigation.
When asked what she was doing, the report states that Fay said she was looking for cigarettes and had just walked from the Walmart in Hilltown Township. The report states that Fay became agitated when being questioned by police, and a subsequent records check showed that there was an active arrest warrant for Fay in Bucks County, on charges of theft and narcotics possession. Fay was then detained on the warrant, according to the report.
Police said that their search of Fay’s person uncovered two glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine, a plastic candy container which contained crystal methamphetamine, and a black zipper pouch which contained unused packaging materials for narcotics along with four Xanax “bars,” according to the complaint. Fay was then taken into custody.
As a result of the incident, Fay has been charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute, as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fay was arraigned that morning by Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy, who set bail at $10,000 cash. She was then remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail. Her next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Sept. 26 at 10:15 a.m. in front of Judge Duffy.
