Walnut Street in Hatfield Closed Due to Vehicle Crash, Downed Pole

UPDATE: Sept. 11, 9 a.m. - Walnut Street was reopened at 5 a.m. this morning, according to a release from the Hatfield Township Police Department.

Walnut Street in Hatfield Township has been closed from Cowpath Road to Montgomery Street following a single vehicle crash.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at 7:38 p.m. The incident involves a single vehicle, and according to police, the vehicle struck and “sheared” a utility pole.

No injuries have been reported, though there are currently local power outages. Hatfield Police are being assisted at the scene by fire police from the Colmar Fire Company and crews from PECO.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area, and refrain from attempting to drive around any emergency vehicles or barriers while crews continue to work at the scene.
