A two-vehicle accident forced the closure of Moyers Road in Lansdale Wednesday morning, as crews worked to remove an overturned vehicle from the roadway.
The incident occurred at 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Moyers and Schwab roads. The incident involved two vehicles—one of which overturned. Though initial dispatch reports indicated the driver of the overturned vehicle needed rescue, police on the scene said the driver was able to free themselves by exiting through the rear of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
According to Lansdale Borough Police Chief Mike Trail, the accident was caused by distracted driving.
“When driving, don’t use your mobile device for anything,” said Trail, via Twitter. “It will still be there when you reach your destination. Play it safe and put it down.”

Due to the accident, Moyers Road was closed between Schwab Road and the entrance to Wedgewood for roughly one hour. Lansdale Borough Police, fire police from Fairmount Fire Company and units from the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale assisted at the scene.
