Hatfield Police Make Arrest in Attempted Residential Burglary Incident

Hatfield Township Police have announced the arrest of a Norristown man in connection with an attempted residential burglary that occurred last Tuesday.

According to the release, police were dispatched to the 400 block of Koffel Road at 12:31 a.m. on Oct 15 for a report of an attempted residential burglary in progress. Upon arrival, the homeowners informed police that they heard a window break and their surveillance system showed a male suspect on their porch. The suspect the fled the scene.

Using the surveillance footage, investigators identified the suspect as 20-year-old Jaeed Wills, the release states. An arrest warrant was then issued, and Wills was taken into custody on Oct. 18.

As a result of the incident, Wills has been charged with felony counts of attempted burglary and  attempted criminal trespass, as well as misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and loitering, and a summary charge of criminal trespass.

Wills was arraigned on Oct. 18 by Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine, who set bail at $30,000 unsecured. Wills was then released from custody.

His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m. in front of Judge Levine.
