A Philadelphia woman is facing a felony charge after she allegedly stole more than $500 from a register during her shift at Saladworks in Montgomery Township.
According to the criminal complaint, Montgomery Township Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Garden Golf Boulevard at 7:53 a.m. on Aug. 12 for a report of theft of cash. Upon arrival, police spoke with the manager, who stated that $500.75 was missing from one of the registers, the report states.
Police viewed the store’s closed-circuit surveillance system, which allegedly showed that another manager—identified as 49-year-old Kimberly Metz—clocked herself in at 4:03 a.m. and proceeded to open the register and remove the money, which she then placed in her left-front jacket pocket, the report states. Metz then allegedly logged out of the register, walked to the front of the store, then walked to the rear of the store and left, police said.
As a result of the incident, Metz was charged with one felony count of burglary and one misdemeanor count of theft by unlawful taking. She was taken into custody on Oct. 16, and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured. She was then released from custody.
Metz’s next court appearance is a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Duffy on Nov. 5 at 11:15 a.m.
