North Penn DUI Task Force Releases Results of Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint

(Editor’s note: the following is a release from the North Penn Area DUI Task Force.)

On October 18, 2019, The North Penn Area DUI Task Force conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint within Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, PA. 

The Checkpoint was conducted along Forty Foot Road (SR 463). The participating agencies were Towamencin Township Police Department, Hatfield Township Police Department, Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department, Marlborough Township Police Department, Franconia Township Police Department, East Greenville Borough Police Department, and Lansdale Borough Police Department. The Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale also assisted.

This checkpoint was conducted in a location where alcohol has been a significant factor in traffic arrests and contacts. 

As a result of this enforcement, three drivers were arrested for drug related DUI and one other was removed for testing.  Two of those drivers will also be charged with drug law violations as well.
