Towamencin Police Issue Alert Involving Suspicious Packages, Identity Theft

Towamencin Township Police are alerting the public to a suspicious incident involving identity theft, package delivery and a white van.

According to the alert, police received a report of suspicious packages being delivered to a homeowner who never ordered them. The homeowner, who resides in the area of Allentown and Keeler roads, then learned that their personal information had been used to open several credit cards which were used to purchase the packages.

The alert states that the homeowner informed police that they had seen a suspicious white van traveling slowly in their cul-de-sac, before stopping in front of their home earlier in the day. A neighbor corroborated the homeowner’s story, stating that they had also seen the white van later that morning, police said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or who may have captured the incident on their surveillance system between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., is asked to contact the Towamencin Township Police Department at 215-368-7606 and reference report 2019-18388.
