Telford Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault of Two Children

Jean Alvarenga Santos, 41, of Telford.

A Telford man is heading to county jail after pleading guilty to charges stemming from the sexual assault of two young girls earlier this year.

Jean Alvarenga Santos, 41, was initially charged in April with one felony count of aggravated indecent assault of a child, two felony counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, two felony counts of corruption of minors and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, in connection with an investigation by the Hilltown Township Police Department.

During his trial at the Bucks County Courthouse on Tuesday, Alvarenga Santos plead guilty to lesser misdemeanor charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, corruptions of minors and endangering the welfare of children. The felony charge of aggravated indecent assault was dismissed, according to court records.

Following the guilty plea, Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Gary Gilman sentenced Alvarenga Santos to 6-to-23-months in county jail, followed by four years of probation. Alvarenga Santos was also ordered to undergo sex offender and mental health treatment, and he has been prohibited from having any further contact with the victims.

Earlier this year, Hilltown Township Police began investigating a possible sexual assault that occurred along the 200 block of Washington Place in March. Investigators learned that two juvenile victims—both under 13-years-old—were sexually assaulted by Alvarenga Santos in March and April.
