Autumn Festival Scheduled for This Saturday in Montgomery Township

Montgomery Township will be hosting their 19th Annual Autumn Festival community event on Oct. 12 from noon to 5 p.m. at William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae, located at 1147 Kenas Road.

This year’s events will include many of the park attractions that residents of Montgomery Township have grown to know and love, such as the hayrides, pumpkin decorating, scarecrow making, helicopter landing, police K-9 demonstrations, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, and police/fire department displays, as well as new attractions such as a mini Ferris wheel, mechanical bull, inflatable axe-throwing, and a Kiddie Korner.

The Kiddie Korner will feature a trackless train, fire truck jump slide, inflatable pirate ship, Mickey Park Toddler Town, and Justice League Moon Bounce. 

There will also be 70 crafters/vendors, and plenty of food for attendees to choose from including:

• Philly Waffle Cabin

• Gigunitios (Cheesesteaks, Sausage Sandwiches, Portobello Mushroom Sandwiches)

• Funellas Funnel Cakes

• Curly Tail Ice Cream (Rolled Ice Cream)

• Kona Ice King of Prussia

• Nutz About Popcorn

• Babalouie BBQ

FREE ACTIVITIES: hayrides, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, helicopter landing, K-9 demonstrations, walking magic show, police and fire displays. Admission and on-site parking are also free.

TICKETED ACTIVITIES: Tickets will be sold for $1 per ticket. Amusements (two tickets), pumpkin decorating (one ticket) and scarecrow making (five tickets).

WRISTBAND INCLUSIONS: One scarecrow to make, one pumpkin to decorate and unlimited amusements. Amusements include inflatables (including new axe throwing inflatable), games, mini-Ferris wheel, toddler train, rock-wall and mechanical bull.

Discount wristbands are now on sale at the Montgomery Township Community and Recreation Center for $7. The pre-sale will end Oct. 9. Wristbands purchased during the pre-sale can be made with cash or credit. Wristbands will also be available for purchase the day of the event for $10. All wristband and ticket purchases made at the park on the day of the event will be cash only.

There will be on-site event parking at Rose Twig at Windlestrae, and handicap parking available at the main lot of William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae. Overflow parking will be available at Penn Manufacturing Industries (506 Stump Road, Montgomeryville, PA 18936) and Keystone Fellowship (427 Stump Road, North Wales, PA 19454), where there will be a free shuttle service available to take attendees to-and-from the park.

In the event of rain, a modified version of the event will take place at the Community and Recreation Center.

Montgomery Township is also encouraging the community to participate in their Facebook share contest. Share the Autumn Festival Facebook Event Page and comment “shared” on the post or in the discussion area of the event page to be entered to win either a one month, two month or three month membership to the Community and Recreation Center!

There will be three winners. Membership to the Community and Recreation Center includes the fitness facility, all group exercise classes and discounts on many recreational programs. The winners will be announced on Facebook at the end-of-day on Oct. 12.
