Two men were injured on Monday afternoon after the vehicle in which they were traveling went down an embankment and overturned on Valley Forge Road.

The incident occurred at 2:03 p.m. on Oct. 7, near the intersection of Jacks Lane in Towamencin Township. According to Towamencin Police Chief Tim Dickinson, the vehicle veered off of the right side of the road and overturned as it went down an embankment, causing injuries to the male driver and a male passenger.

Both men were evaluated at the scene, and then taken via ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, Dickinson said. Their condition is currently unknown, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Due to the crash, Valley Forge Road was closed in both directions from Sumneytown Pike to Hillside Avenue for roughly one hour. Towamencin Township Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Towamencin Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.
