Multiple area fire companies were dispatched to a fire at a commercial building early Wednesday evening.
According the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the crews were dispatched at 7:08 p.m. to 101 Park Drive for a report of a commercial fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fire in the building’s compressor room, and they were able to place it under control in approximately 45 minutes, according to Fire Department of Montgomery Township Battalion Chief Bill Wiegman.
Wiegman stated that all damage was contained within the compressor room, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported during the incident, and emergency personnel were able to clear the scene in roughly 90 minutes, Wiegman said.
In addition to the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, units from North Penn, Colmar, Fairmount, Upper Gwynedd, Wissahickon, Horsham, Center Square, Fort Washington and Norriton fire companies either assisted at the scene or served as cover companies while the incident was ongoing.
“There were several mutual aid companies dispatched to the scene due to it being a commercial occupancy. Some of the companies that were listed were cover companies that were directed to our station in order to cover additional calls for service,” said Wiegman. “We were able to release companies fairly quickly due to the quick extinguishment by the first arriving units.”
