FBI Joins Search for ‘Pumpkin Head Bandit’ Bank Robbery Suspect

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined the search for a man who robbed a bank in Lower Gwynedd several weeks ago.

The incident occurred on Sept. 17 at 12:07 p.m. at the Key Bank located along the 1000 block of Bethlehem Pike. According to the FBI release, an unknown male—whom the FBI has dubbed the "Pumpkin Head Bandit”—entered the bank wearing an orange mask/scarf, sunglasses, a blue shirt, jeans and blue rubber gloves, and assaulted both a bank employee and a customer upon entering. The suspect the approached the teller line and demanded cash.

Once the teller gave the suspect cash, the suspect then fled the scene on foot, though the FBI notes that he may have entered a vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male with a heavy Spanish accent, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. The suspect’s possible vehicle has been identified as a red pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact the FBI at (215) 418-4000, or Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department at (215) 646-5303. Tips may remain anonymous, and there may be a reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
