The field will be lined, the banners will be put up, the stadium lights turned up high, and a Friday night stage will be set for North Penn’s Homecoming at Crawford Stadium for one last time before stadium renovations begin next year. The Eagle’s Autism Challenge Ambassador and 2016 Homecoming King himself, Ben Hartranft, will be in attendance and will be leading the charge once again with fundraising efforts towards autism awareness during the Friday night spectacle.
“[Homecoming is a must attend] because we are going to do a great cause for Ray Macnamara and for the Eagles Autism Challenge,” said Hartranft. “I can’t say thank you to North Penn [enough] for helping me towards [my] efforts for autism awareness and taking that to action. North Penn is a big part of my heart and it will always be there no matter what you do. Go follow [your dream] and dream big.”
Make sure you come out to the amazing event as Ben will be there giving away a signed Jason Kelce jersey and an autographed hat signed by Carson Wentz. If you are going to the game Friday night, they will be selling the tickets there for the signed player items throughout the night with all proceeds benefiting the Ray Macnamara Scholarship and Eagles Autism Challenge.
In addition to the homecoming spectacle, the stage will be set for week seven’s football game between the undefeated Souderton Indians (6-0) and North Penn Knights (5-1). The North Penn football team will battle out on the dirt and grass for one last homecoming night in the stadium with a buzzing home crowd in the spirit and festivities of a North Penn King and Queen for the 2020 class. War with their crosstown rivals from endzone to endzone in the 28 years the stadium gates have been opened, homecoming festivities bring an enriching vibe to the atmosphere under the Friday night lights, where seven males and seven females will be introduced to a packed house audience and be showcased and put in the spotlight for the amazing things they have done for our community and how they represent our North Penn family.
“I think the North Penn Homecoming game is so special because the whole community gets together and witnesses who will win,” said Hartranft. “When I was homecoming king in 2016, it was an amazing opportunity and it’s always an amazing night at Crawford Stadium.”
The crowning of king and queen for the 2020 class of Knights will be held on the field for the last time in “The Swamp,” as many students of North Penn have become accustomed to calling their beloved stadium for multiple years.
Be sure to find yourself submersed in this tremendous event this Friday night, where the lights of Crawford Stadium will shine for one last time on a North Penn Homecoming King and Queen presentation, before renovations are conducted on the stadium for next year’s homecoming event, and the tradition, as we know it, graduates with North Penn’s 2020 class.
