Plumber Facing Felony Charge After Failing to Render Services in Lansdale

A Fairless Hills man is facing a felony theft charge after he was allegedly hired to perform plumbing services to a home in Lansdale Borough, then failed to provide the work after receiving the initial deposit.

According to the criminal complaint, a property owner along the unit block of East Second Street contacted the Lansdale Borough Police Department on Oct. 8 to file a report. The property owner stated they had hired 50-year-old David Pachucki, of A-Savior Plumbing Inc., to perform plumbing work to the home in late April, and provided an initial $2,600 deposit for the work to be completed, the report states.

The deposit was allegedly cashed by Pachucki, but the plumbing work never began, police said. In the time since the work order was signed, the homeowner allegedly made repeated attempts to retrieve the deposit, but all were unsuccessful, according to the complaint.

Police then spoke with Pachucki directly, at which point he allegedly admitted to taking the property owner’s money and agreed to return it, the complaint states. Despite being given a reasonable amount of time to return the deposit, the deposit has still not been returned, the complaint states.

As a result of the investigation, Pachucki has been charged with one felony count of theft by deception – false impression. His first court appearance is a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District judge Ed Levine on Dec. 20 at 11:30 a.m.
