Man Arrested on Drug, Resisting Charges in Montgomery Township

A Philadelphia man is facing multiple charges following a pedestrian stop in the Home Depot parking lot in Montgomery Township on Nov. 16.

According to the criminal complaint, Montgomery Township Police conducted a pedestrian stop along the 700 block of Horsham Road at 11:38 a.m. after recognizing a male—identified as 31-year-old Timothy Myers—who had two active warrants for his arrest. As police attempted to take Myers into custody, he allegedly ignored verbal commands, resisted arrest and thrashed back and forth in an effort to prevent being handcuffed, the report states.

Once in custody, a search of Myers allegedly uncovered more than 20 grams of marijuana and 31 Oxycodone pills without any proof of prescription, according to the report.

As a result of the incident, Myers has been charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and resisting arrest.

Myers was arraigned on Nov. 16 by Magisterial District Judge Gregory Scott, who set bail at $10,000 cash. Myers was then remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post, and his next court appearance is a formal arraignment at the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 15, 2020.

Myers is being represented by Norristown-based Michael Anthony Walker, ESQ.
