Orvilla Road Closed For Extended Period After Tractor Trailer Tears Down Wires, Pole

A portion of Orvilla Road in Towamencin Township is expected to be closed for an extended period, after a tractor trailer tore down wires and a pole near the intersection with Weikel Road earlier this morning.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety (DPS), the incident occurred at 9:03 a.m., and sources tell North Penn Now that there are downed wires on the road, as well as a downed utility pole.

Orvilla Road is currently closed between Allentown and Weikel roads, and PECO has been notified of the incident. No injuries have been reported. Dispatch notes indicate that the closure is expected to continue for an extended period.

Towamencin Township Police are currently on scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
