Emergency Personnel Respond to Accident With Injuries, Vehicle Fire in Lansdale Sunday Morning

Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Walnut and West 9th streets in Lansdale Borough on Sunday morning for a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the incident was reported on Nov. 3 at 8:48 a.m. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one caught fire immediately afterwards, according to Fairmount Fire Company Assistant Chief Gavin Butler.

Butler said the exact cause of the fire was undetermined, however it appeared to be as a result of the accident. The fire was contained to one vehicle, and no property damage was evident in the immediate area.

Both drivers were in the custody of the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale at the time of the fire company’s arrival, and Butler said one-or-both were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Butler added that the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Lansdale Borough Police Department.
